In today's video, we have great news to discuss about Keenlab's recent security research achievement. They have successfully created a #Jailbreak for #iOS 12.1 on the latest #iPhone XS Max which uses the A12 Chip, Apple's most advanced and secure chip to date. The achievement is truly astonishing especially since iOS 12.1 is the latest version currently available and A12 uses the ARMv8.3 architecture which comes with PAC or Pointer Authentication Codes which is a powerful exploit mitigation technique. Keenlab has demonstrated their Jailbreak application a few hours ago at PoC 2018.
Of course, it is very likely that Keenlab Team will not release the tool because the jailbreak is made for a proof of concept and not for actual public usage. It's very likely not bundled with Cydia because it was done for security research, not tweaks and themes. However, their achievement speaks out loud. It makes it clear that even with the hardened security around AMFI(d) with CoreTrust on iOS 12, Apple still couldn't beat the talented security researchers and Jailbreaking is still alive and well.
If you are running iOS 12.1, however, I would recommend you to downgrade back to iOS 12.0.1 while it is still possible. iOS 12.0 is also good if you already there but you can also update to iOS 12.0.1. If you are running iOS 11.4 or iOS 11.4.1, I would recommend you to stay there and not update, but your call. Regardless of what version you run, save your SHSH2 blobs using TSS Saver!
