In today's video, we're covering two important topics regarding iOS #Jailbreak. Liang Chen of Keenlab has just announced a few hours ago that he has successfully jailbroke #iOS 12.1 on iPhone XS Max (A12 Chip) and he will present his finding at the Power Of Community conference (POC 2018) on November 9. In a photo he has posted, one can easily see a jailbroken iPhone XS with the Keenlab Jailbreak application and a MacBook connected to the phone through netcat. The command that Liang executed was "uname -a" which gives information about the XNU Kernel, its version, build date and so on.
The second topic we discuss is the jailbreak bounty started by the Reddit Jailbreak community for an open source iOS 12.1 Jailbreak with Cydia. The bounty was started by Reddit user u/Applango and he offers $10k CAD for a stable iOS 12.1 Jailbreak with Cydia. According to the moderators on the subreddit, the bounty has been verified as being authentic which makes it the biggest bounty for a Jailbreak software in the history of iOS Jailbreaking. Pretty interesting #news.
As always, do not update your phone to iOS 12.1 yet as nothing public is currently available and there are very high chances Keenlab will not be releasing their Jailbreak tool as they developed it for security research purposes.
