As you probably remember, back in July, a new jailbreak for iOS 10.3.2 and iOS 11 Beta 2 was demonstrated by Liang Chen of Tencent #KeenLab at #MOSEC #2017. MOSEC (Mobile Security Conference) is organized by #Pangu and Power Of Community.
The jailbreak demoed there was compatible with iPhone 7 as well, which means that Liang Chen has successfully bypassed AMCC (now known as SiDP). A couple photos were posted from the demo and they rapidly become viral – and that was it. No words about it or any video showing it in action or at least any new photos after that as if it never happened.
Until now. Yesterday, Liang Chen has posted a new video on YouTube containing the actual demonstration itself. In the video he uses the KeenLab application to jailbreak an iPhone 6, and 2 iPhone 7 devices both on iOS 11 Beta and iOS 10.3.2, but why? Why posting this demo (with no other additional info from the conference) 2 months after it happened?
I don't know whether Liang plans to release it or not, but the fact that the demo is now up after 2 months, hints to the fact that they might have plans with that jailbreak. Anyways, I pretty happy they've managed to bypass AMCC on iOS 11 and iOS 10.3.2, it is a huge step ahead showing that jailbreaking is still possible.
