In an unexpected turn of events, a new kernel exploit project called async_wake_ios has been published by Ian Beer on the page of the previous IOSurface exploit. This project apparently gets tfp0 on all 64-bit devices and includes an initial PoC local kernel debugger. By 64-Bit devices, Ian means iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 7 as well.
A developer by the name benjibobs has created a fork of async_wake on GitHub and he modified the exploit to do various other commands. You can check his project down below. For the moment, benjibobs' async_wake can get you root and tfp0 on all 64-bit devices running 11.1.2. This is not a jailbreak, but it is a huge step towards one.
At the rate iOS 11.1.2 gets pwned, I advise you to save your SHSH2 blobs for it now! If you feel like updating, you can also update. There are enough exploits to make it less dangerous if you update, but at the end of the day, it is your call.
