iOS 12.1.2 / 12 / 11.4.x JAILBREAK UPDATE: BEST iOS VERSIONS TO STAY ON!

In today's video, we're going to discuss the best iOS versions to stay on if you are interested in jailbreaking your device on iOS 12.x or iOS 11.4.x. There seems to be quite a lot of confusion around this topic and therefore, in this video, we address which versions are better and why. Of course, the currently available vulnerabilities and the upcoming ones announced by Brandon Azad of Google Project Zero gives a lot of room to move for the jailbreaker, but still, some versions are better than others so here's my short explanation.

#iOS 12.1.3 should be avoided at all costs if you wanna #jailbreak. All known iOS vulnerabilities that we may wind up using in a jailbreak have been patched in iOS 12.1.3, so staying on that firmware version is possibly the worst thing you can do. Fortunately, if you have already updated (or your phone did that for you – Thanks Apple…), the iOS 12.1.2 and iOS 12.1.1 are currently still signed and this means that you can downgrade to them. I would, however, do it as fast as possible because Apple may close very soon the signing window for these versions due to the large amounts of publicly available exploits.

iOS 12.x versions up to 12.1.2 are fine. For some devices, different iOS 12.x versions have different weird issues. If your device is affected by a serious bug on a lower version but has been fixed in iOS 12.1.2, I'd recommend updating to 12.1.2 but only if the bug is a serious one. Other than that, iOS 12.0 to 12.1.2 should be generally fine, with the lowest end of the spectrum being the recommended position to be. If you are on iOS 12.1.1 or 12.1.2 already, stay there. You are fine.

iOS 11.4.1 and iOS 11.4 are quite possibly the best versions to be on in terms of jailbreaking. It wasn't for nothing that I kept on saying "don't update from 11.4.x" in the past 2 months. iOS 11.4.x may actually be jailbroken faster than 12 because there is no CoreTrust to mess with and no iOS 12-esque security mitigations. In terms of security mechanisms, iOS 11.4.1 and iOS 11.4 are quite the same as iOS 11.3.1. Tfp0 is all it takes to update Unc0ver for these versions.
