In today's video, we're discussing the new release of the iOS 11.3.1. Apple has released it just a few hours ago for all 64-Bit devices and according to Apple it is a security improvements update and it also fixes the iPhone 8 unresponsive touchscreens due to third-party displays. Apple has released this update out of the blue in the middle of iOS 11.4 being in Beta 2.
This has some implications on jailbreaking as well. The iOS 11.3.1 update patches a few bugs, especially one from Ian Beer of Google Project Zero that is able to gain elevated privileges through a crafted application. There are also two WebKit vulnerabilities that were patched in iOS 11.3.1. All these vulnerabilities have the potential to be used in a jailbreak so do not update to iOS 11.3.1 unless you experience the touchscreen problems described by Apple.
For those of you running iOS 11.2, iOS 11.2.1 or newer up to iOS 11.2.6, do not update to iOS 11.3 or to iOS 11.3.1. iOS 11.3 users should not update to iOS 11.3.1 if they want to jailbreak, and iOS 11.3.1 users should downgrade back to iOS 11.3 while it is still possible if they want to jailbreak. It is also recommended to save your SHSH2 blobs (ApTickets) for both iOS 11.3 and iOS 11.3.1 using the TSSSaver below.
