Two days ago, Electra #Jailbreak developer, Coolstar, has released an update to split Cydia into Cydia GUI and the Cydia binaries so that it can be maintained alongside #Sileo when Sileo gets released. Unfortunately, the preliminary testing did not reveal the problems the update had, and the people who installed the update advertised by Cydia as an "important update", Cydia stopped working most of the times with a black screen and then immediate quitting, or simply with the total disappearance of Cydia.
A few hours after the incident happened, Coolstar released a fixed version of the update, but it was a bit too late. Some people already broke their Cydia, and therefore, Coolstar released a fix called #Cydia Update Helper which uses a Sileo component to help Cydia update itself. Only a minor issue: The package comes as a .deb file and has to be manually installed by the user with either dpkg via SSH or using Filza. At the time of the release, two days ago, I have made a video explaining the problem and where to find the fix but some people told me they were unable to fix it because they don't know how to install the .deb file.
In this video, I am showing you how to install the fix and apply it using Filza File Manager and the NewTerm2 terminal emulator. If you don't have these two essential applications installed, you won't be able to follow along and your only way to fix the mess is via SSH and a computer. For future reference, Filza and NewTerm2 should be the first you install after jailbreak. These two apps can save your jailbreak when Cydia goes wrong.
