Jailbreaking is never an easy thing. It takes being on the right version of iOS at the right time to be able to take advantage of a small vulnerability that allows you to customize your device the way you want. I make this series of videos called "Jailbreak Updates" or "#Jailbreak Status" so that you can stay informed about what is that perfect version at the perfect moment and why is that. iOS 12.3.1 and iOS 12.3 were released quickly by Apple and replaced the all-so-vulnerable iOS 12.2. Currently, on 12.3.1 and 12.3 are signed and that is far from being good news for the jailbreak community.
In this video, we discuss the current status of the #iOS 12.1.3, iOS 12.1.4, iOS 12.2, iOS 12.3 and iOS 12.1.3 Jailbreak, where we're at, what is still needed, what to expect and whether we can update Houdini or build a similar tool with the sandbox escapes that we have. Please do keep in mind that Abraham Masri, the original developer behind #Houdini has made it open source, but he is no longer working on it. Whoever wants to update it is, however, free to do so as the project has been made available on GithHub. It's a matter of whether we have the right vulnerabilities and whether the effort of updating the codebase for some minor patches and customizations is worth it.
Jailbreaking is far from being phased out, but with Apple keeping on updating iOS and unsigning the vulnerable versions thus making them impossible to install, it is more important than ever to pick the right iOS version and stay on it if you wanna enjoy Cydia, Sileo, Tweaks, and Themes on a Jailbreak anytime soon. Hopefully, this video will provide a small insight into what is currently going on, what we have, what we need and what to expect so that you can make an educated guess when it comes to picking the right iOS version that suits your needs.
