In today's video, we're discussing the latest update for the Unc0ver #iOS 12.0 – 12.1.2 Jailbreak that was released a few hours ago by developers Pwn20wnd and Sam Bingner. The updated labeled v3.1.3 contains important bug fixes including a fix for a logic bug which seems to cause issues with the root file system. The bug was reported by YRNZero on Reddit and was addressed promptly by the Unc0ver team in v3.1.3. Root FS bugs are pretty serious issues. Such bugs can easily produce a bootloop, which is a condition in which the device refuses to power on and requires restoring to the latest signed iOS version which results in losing the jailbreak. Addressing such bugs is very important and that's why I urge anybody using Unc0ver to update to the latest version to ensure the bug won't affect them.
Amongst some other cosmetical changes, Unc0ver v3.1.3 also updates the kernel patches to use a safer allocation method and make machswap and machswap2 kernel exploits to no longer depend on getting kernel's credentials. These contribute to stability and performance improvements for the Unc0ver Jailbreak users.
What about A12?
Since every time I make a video about Unc0ver updates this question comes up, I'll address it here. There have been no recent changes in the A12 support for the #Unc0ver #Jailbreak. The A12 devices are supported in a limited fashion – SSH and the binaries are enabled and deployed, but no Cydia and no Substrate is installed, so no tweaks. If you are using an A12 device, it is necessary to use Chimera Jailbreak by the Electra Team for now.
