In today’s video, we’re discussing Jake James’ release of sock_port, a tfp0 kernel exploit for iOS 12.0 all the way up to iOS 12.2 which has an incredibly fast action once triggered. Jake has tested the exploit successfully on A12 devices as well (iPhone XS, XS MAX and XR) and has confirmed it working on A7 devices (iPhone 5S) all the way up to the latest iPad Pros (A12X). Although based on the same bug as Ned Williamson’s sock puppet exploit, Jake’s uses a completely different technique and it’s much more stable and fast. With it, Jake managed to get tfp0 in under 200 milliseconds, and Unc0ver is now able to jailbreak your device in 1-2 seconds using this exploit.
With this release, 4K devices are finally able to be jailbroken with a very stable exploit (almost 100% success rate), with Cydia and Tweaks. For the A12 devices, the exploit also has almost 100% success rate and it was confirmed working. We do have tfp0 and a stable way to get it, that means quite a lot, but for now we still need to figure a way to enable tweak injection on A12, so we’re not there just yet, however, Jake James’ exploit is one of the fastest, most reliable ones ever released, which will definitely help. Unc0ver Jailbreak was updated by Pwn20wnd to reflect Jakes’ changes. Unc0ver users should now be able to enjoy very good stability and increased jailbreaking speed.
