In today's video, we're discussing a few very important updates and developments in the Jailbreak community, related to the Unc0ver #Jailbreak on iOS 12.0 all the way up to iOS 12.1.2. As you probably know, the initial release did not support nor 4K devices (A7 and A8), neither A12 (iPhone XS, iPhone XS MAX and iPhone XR). Those were scheduled to be added in the future. Important developments occurred and the support for the 4K devices is finally ready. There's just one more thing saurik has to update before the version of Unc0ver compatible with iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, 6 Plus and iPod Touch 6 can be released. As for the A12 devices, Pwn20wnd gave some insights on what's the current status for them and what is left to be done.
The 4K devices are even luckier. Normally, we would have used tihmstar's v3ntex exploit which is, unfortunately, a bit flaky and it panics the kernel quite a lot making for a quite poor exploit success rate, however, just a few days ago the developer of the Meridian #iOS 10 Jailbreak, IBSparkes, has released his iOS 12 kernel exploit compatible with the 4K devices which is extremely stable. Pwn20wnd has announced that he'll be integrating the exploit for 4K devices on iOS 11 up to 12.1.2 giving them a great stability boost and much quicker jailbreak.
We're not going bad in terms of CoreTrust bypasses either. A few days ago, Jake James successfully achieved a real CoreTrust bypass on iOS 12. IBSparkes and Luca have also achieved CoreTrust bypasses earlier this year. #Unc0ver doesn't use a CoreTrust bypass, but rather a workaround, however, according to Pwn20wnd there shouldn't be any issues.
