In today's video, we're discussing the release of Jake James' #RootlessJB with support for A7, A8, A9, A10, and A11 devices. This means support for iPhone 5S all the way up to iPhone X. A12 devices are currently not supported. Those are iPhone XS, iPhone XS MAX, and iPhone XR. For the supported devices the jailbreak brings quite a lot to the table. Many of the #tweaks can be installed and used on iOS 12 all the way up to iOS 12.1.2. Of course, there is no Cydia and no remount for the root file system as this is a rootless jailbreak, but the tweaks can easily be installed with the built-in Filza or using my tool, GeoFilza which is a self-contained fork of Filza.
Do I recommend using this? Well, it's complicated. See, the procedure to get the tweaks working is initially quite difficult to understand if you are not familiar with command-line tools and the way Filza works. You have to patch the tweak .DEBS manually using a patcher tool, and then transfer the content over to the device through a file manager on Mac. Although you get used to the process after a few tries, it's not the easy 1-Button action you're used to from previous jailbreaks. So what can you do? Well, if you don't want to mess with patching yourself you should wait for Unc0ver Jailbreak which is almost complete. The release is very close and that will contain proper Cydia and Cydia Substrate, so you'll have the normal jailbreak experience you are used to.
