In today's video, we're discussing the latest news about the #Electra #Jailbreak for #iOS 12.0 up to iOS 12.1.2 for A12 devices and older, and we're also discussing a bit about Sileo and the supported repos (or lack of thereof), and about my Jailbreak, Osiris Jailbreak for iOS 12 which currently undergoes major changes and updates to make it more user-friendly and add more features.
As you probably know, A12 devices (that is basically iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone XS MAX and the latest iPad Pro models) are currently not jailbroken. There is Unc0ver which sort of supports them, but it's very limited. Only SSH and Filza (basically Osiris). No Cydia or Sileo and no tweaks support. Since saurik has made it clear that there will be no Substrate update anytime soon, Unc0ver took a pretty serious hit. Pwn20wnd and Sam Bingner have to update Unc0ver to work with Substitute, but substitute is massively broken at the moment and needs major refactoring, something Electra team was privately doing for a while now and according to Coolstar, succeeded.
However, there are drawbacks on Electra too. For example, Electra 12 will completely ditch Cydia for Sileo, a tool also built by Electra Team. Many of the Cydia-compatible repos do not work out of the box with Sileo. In fact, only a few repos do work. Sileo requires HTTPS, SHA256 and some custom depictions support which many repos simply don't have. A list of the currently supported repos has been made available by Coolstar. Fortunately, most of the mainstream repos are working with a major exception being BigBoss.
