In today’s video, we’re discussing a brand new iOS vulnerability writeup released by Ian Beer of Google Project Zero, that was posted on Twitter a couple of hours ago. It seems to have caused some confusion in the community so I’d like to clear up some of this confusion.
While Ian Beer’s writeup was indeed posted today, the vulnerability in cause is not. It has been patched back on iOS 14.4. Some of you sent me the link to the write-up, others have tagged me on Twitter, so I believe people didn’t read it all the way through, but yes, it’s a case of new write-up, old vulnerability. It could be used for a jailbreak but we already have jailbreaks for iOS 14.3 and lower so there would be no point.
