In today's video, we're discussing a new iOS 12.0 up to iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak that was released a few hours ago called "#Tw3lve". This is jailbreak is allegedly better than the #Unc0ver #Jailbreak and fixes many of the Unc0ver issues people were having. However, the opinions are quite mixed. Some people tried it and said that it actually works much better than Unc0ver and some people tried it and they could not see a difference. There is also a more unfortunate category of people who tried it and bootlooped their device. There is more to this jailbreak story than a fancy name.
After the release, Unc0ver developer Pwn20wnd posted on his twitter that the jailbreak is a "blatant clone of Unc0ver with a changed GUI". He went on to say that the Tw3lve jailbreak uses the entire Unc0ver codebase against its designed purpose within the open source license and he also reiterated that Tw3lve is just a rebranded Unc0ver clone.
However, the team behind it disagree with Pwn20wnd's opinion. In their defense, they did credit the Unc0ver team and made it very clear that the jailbreak is Unc0ver with some fixes. As far as I have seen, there were no claims that this may be a totally new jailbreak, but rather Unc0ver with some modifications. However, Pwn20wnd did not seem to be impressed, so much so that the team behind Tw3lve got a lot of backlash. As a result, they've dropped a few hours ago the Unc0ver components and started using another open source codebase called jelbrekLib by Jake James which is intended for creating jailbreaks on top of it.
Until they convert fully to jailbreakLIB or finish their changes, I'd stay away from Tw3lve. Once they re-release under a different form I'll reconsider their tool and make a video of it if its any good.
