In today's video, we're going to discuss the latest jailbreak news for iOS 12.o all the way up to iOS 12.1.2. Finally, a very important component we've been waiting for in order to have a full jailbreak with Cydia and all that jazz has been released. Pwn20wnd has announced just a few hours ago that he successfully remounted iOS 12.1.1 to be read/write which means that he can now write files anywhere in the filesystem with no limitations. This makes it possible to install the files needed for Cydia and the Substrate to work.
Of course, we may still need to patch up the #Cydia Substrate to work with iOS 12 but the last hurdle may actually be a CoreTrust bypass. If you remember, in my previous videos I've mentioned that a CoreTrust bypass and a ROOT FS #remount are what we need to have a proper iOS 12 Jailbreak with Cydia and Tweaks. The remount is done, now the CoreTrust bypass remains. It's arguable whether or not it is *really* needed as one can sign every binary with a real Apple Developer Certificate and inject into AMFI's dynamic Trust Cache and that would defeat CoreTrust just fine – but this is only a temporary method and it's very tedious and unreliable on a large scale jailbreak. So in the end, a real CoreTrust bypass may be needed.
In this video, I've also explained what CoreTrust is, what it does and why we need to bypass it for Jailbreak purposes. Do not forget to subscribe to stay updated with the latest #iOS and #Jailbreak news!
