In today's video, we're discussing Sileo, a true Cydia competitor for the jailbroken devices and what is currently going on with it. We're addressing the latest update posted in March, the misunderstanding related to the BigBoss repository and the Unc0ver support that was announced by one of the developers in the Sileo team. Sileo is currently available for the Electra users and as I've outlined in my video review, it is indeed pretty good. The interface is modern inspired from iOS 12's App Store, and it the stability is quite impressive for a package manager that is still in very early stages – I can totally see why some people are interested in it.
There have been many attempts to port it to Unc0ver before, some more successful than the others, but there is currently no official version to support the #Unc0ver #Jailbreak on either iOS 11 or iOS 12. One of the developers behind #Sileo announced on his Twitter account that support for Unc0ver is in the works and will come out soon, which is great because this means that soon Unc0ver users will be able to install and use both #Cydia and Sileo.
Now, don't get me wrong. There's no need to use Sileo unless you are pleased by their changes and the user interface. Cydia is not obsolete and it works just fine. It has been updated by Sam Bingner and Saurik to work perfectly fine on iOS 12. Yes, the interface is the same as it used to be back on iOS 7 (with slight modifications here and there), but that doesn't affect the speed of Cydia or the jailbreak, so there's no need to switch to Sileo if you are okay with Cydia and its design.
