Today Apple has released iOS 12.1.1 finally, after a long Beta period making both iOS 12.1 and iOS 12.1.1 currently the latest versions signed for users to update to. At a first glance, this is a bad thing for jailbreakers because soon iOS 12.1 will stop being signed leaving the currently not vulnerable iOS 12.1.1 signed and making it impossible for people to downgrade to iOS 12.1 or lower, however, the Security Contents of #iOS 12.1.1 does make for a smile on Jailbreaker's face. A kernel bug by Ian Beer has been patched which means that the bug is compatible with iOS 12.1 and lower and if I had to guess by the way listed the bug, it does provide tfp0 which would be enough for a Jailbreak on both iOS 12.0 up to iOS 12.1, and iOS 11.4.x.
This is pretty good news for people who are waiting for a #Jailbreak especially since Ian Beer's exploits are usually very powerful. In the past two years all jailbreaks that were released for iOS 10.1.x, 10.3.x, 11.0.x, iOS 11.1.x, and iOS 11.3.x were based on Ian Beer's kernel exploits. His releases have kept the jailbreak scene alive and his efforts to find and report these vulnerabilities have made for the greatest jailbreaks for iOS 11 and iOS 10.
I will keep you updated as the news unfolds, but for the moment avoid updating from whatever version. If you are running iOS 11.4.1 or iOS 11.4 you should NOT update to iOS 12.1 or iOS 12.1.1! In fact, if you're interested in jailbreaking, avoid iOS 12.1.1 at all costs.
