In today's video, we're gonna discuss the current situation of the Meridian Jailbreak for iOS 10.3.3 and lower, especially for the iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus and we're going to answer a question I've been getting quite frequently lately, especially after Keenlab demonstrated their iOS 11.3.1 private jailbreak, "should you update to iOS 11.3.1 or stay on iOS 10.3.3 or lower waiting for Meridian jailbreak"?
IBSparkes has been working on Meridian for a few months now and it is still yet to be released as a Release Candidate. The Jailbreak has been in Public Beta 6 for a few months and I can definitely see where these questions come from, but when it comes to updating, I don't recommend it due to clear reasons. For iOS 10.3.3 and lower, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus owners already have a project that's been ongoing for a while, that has a trello page where the progress can be monitored, and that has a compatibility list for tweaks. It is obvious that at some point it will be finished and released whereas for iOS 11.3.1 there is no active project, just a few vulnerabilities. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users who update from iOS 10.x to 11.3.1 may wind up waiting for more for a jailbreak.
It's advised to remain on the version you are currently running as the Meridian jailbreak is not that far away. Updating may prove to be a big mistake, especially since downgrades are not possible and you would not be able to go back to 10.3.3 or lower, not even with SHSH2 blobs if you update. Having some patience may prove more than useful in this scenario.
