In today's video, we're discussing yet another not-so-real jailbreak for iOS 12.2, iOS 12.1.4 and iOS 12.1.3, but this times the claims are bigger – they claim it is untethered. At first, let's clarify what an untethered jailbreak is so that you can understand why this cannot be one. An untethered jailbreak is a jailbreak that you only install and run once. At that time it sets up everything it needs and it's the first and last time you interact with the #jailbreak utility. Every time you reboot your device it will activate the jailbreak automatically. This used to be the norm on iPhoneOS 1 to #iOS 9.0.2, but starting with the newer iOS 9 versions things have changed quite a lot. Nowadays semi-untethered jailbreaks are the norm. These jailbreaks require the user to activate them manually after each reboot (they are not persistent).
But alas, the thing we're talking about in this video is neither as it is yet another fake jailbreak pretending to be a known one.
Both #TaiG and #PPJailbreak are real jailbreak teams and jailbreak utilities for various iOS 8 and iOS 9 versions, and these jailbreaks have been massively popular back in the days – no wonder, they were very stable and TaiG was indeed untethered. The problem is that these jailbreaks have not been updated since 2015 / 2016 so they do not support iOS 10 or 11 or 12, let alone iOS 12.2 which is the latest version currently available.
What these fake jailbreak websites do is to piggyback on TaiG and PPJailbreak's name and logo because these are well known in the community to attract users on their websites. Be cautious, these are fake tools and you're very likely better off staying away from them.
