iOS 10.3.3 / 10.3.2 – How to Install iFile (No Jailbreak) And What You Can Use It For

In today's video I am gonna be showing you how to install iFile application on your iPhone without being jailbroken on iOS 10.3, iOS 10.3.1, iOS 10.3.2, iOS 10.3.3 and iOS 10.2.1. We're also going to see what you can use the application for, on a non-jailbroken device, as there are limitations in place.

Normally, iFile is available in #Cydia, on a jailbroken device, and it is pretty much a file manager with root access that lets you do various actions to system files and folders including but not limited to creation of files and folders, copy, paste, cut, share and browsing.

On a non-jailbroken device, viewing and modifying system files is not possible due to the app running sandboxed. You can only work in / view iFile's own Sandbox folder, but this gives you the ability to enable the File Sharing for this app so that you can place in its sandbox, any file you want from your PC, and it will pop up in iFile on your phone.

All files available in the Documents folder of iFile, can be opened, modified, removed, moved and copied. You can also use the built-in HEX editor on binaries which is quite nice, considering the fact that there is barely any HEX editor available for iOS on the App Store.
Amongst the features you can use, you have the ability to modify and view PLIST files.

You can also write text. I successfully created and edited a .c and a .cpp (C++) file in iFile without having a jailbreak.

All in all, although not even close to what this app can do on a jailbroken device, it is nice to have it on your phone, especially if you like to play with binaries in a HEX editor, or you want at least some folders available on your device – considering that iOS provides no means to create a folder or to view the contents of one.
